Proverbs 14

Proverbs 14. Verse 23 says "all hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty". This verse compounds on and further confirms my discussion from yesterday. If u know something needs to be done, don't just talk about it, DO it. Work diligently to achieve the goal and you will be rewarded (profit). Sit around and talk about it, and nothing happens (poverty).

That's not to confuse activity with productivity. Just because you're active (moving, doing something) doesn't mean you are being productive (diligently working). There is a measure of planning, seeking guidance and thinking things through needed. But don't get stuck staying in the planning phase (talking), push thru to the doing (working hard).

Its also on my heart to mention this applies to your view of other's efforts as well. If u find yourself complaining how others are doing things, then STOP! Stop spreading negative venom, seek God's guidance, and DO something about it. Speak with that person to see how u can help make it better. Anyone can be critical about an idea or method when they have nothing at stake. Running your mouth does nothing to help fix the problem, it only adds more trouble. If your dissatisfied then DO something about it!

Lord, please help me to be less critical of others and, instead, help me to see the need and DO something constructive to fill the need. Not to tear down Your kingdom with words, but to build it up with actions, all for Your glory.
