Proverbs 3. Whenever I feel I am being called by God to do a certain task, my mind immediately moves to try to figure out the “plan”; that is, the “why” of the task. But this is exactly what I shouldn’t do. Proverbs 3:5a states, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding”. Therefore, my job is not to “understand” or “figure it out”, my job is to trust and obey the Lord! Instead of being so pretentious to apply human understanding to a God plan, I simply need to follow. If I try to “lean on my own understanding”, I may miss what the Lord has told me to do, and I definitely don’t want to do that. Lord, I want to trust and obey You with all of my heart; please help me not to lean on my own understanding, but to follow Your will for Your glory.
