Proverbs 30

Verses 5 & 6 state, (5) "Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. (6) Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar.” Two very, very important messages in these verses.

First, God is perfect and His word is FLAWLESS. When you’re seeking advice and guidance, you want the very best. With humans, it is difficult to know, for sure, if the advice is best, but with God there is no doubt. His every word is FLAWLESS. What better guidance to take than perfect guidance?

Lastly, as people tend to do to prove their points, DO NOT add to God’s words, or you will be rebuked and proven a liar. Therefore, it is very, very important to know God’s word and message, so we repeat His flawless word correctly, without adding to it. If we do, we will be rebuked. Another great reason to know the word and keep it in our hearts, so we can correctly apply it to our lives daily.

Lord, please help me to seek Your flawless word and to not add to it, to seek Your wisdom and apply it to my life to bring You glory.
