Proverbs 5. Verses 3&4 state, “For the lips of an adulteress drip honey, and her speech is smoother than oil; (4) but in the end she is bitter as gall, sharp as a double-edged sword.” Isn’t that exactly how those who entice you to sin always appear? At first, their words are sweet, their plan sounds so enticing, so simple. Then, once you follow, it turns into a nightmare of trouble and pain. That is exactly why we must take this wisdom to heart, to be alert to the seduction of sin, know how to identify and avoid, so we won’t end up in ruin, but remain on the victorious, righteous path of the Lord Almighty!
If you start to hear someone encouraging you into sin, stop and examine them closely, remember their words will “drip honey… (be) smoother than oil”. If you are unsure, pray for guidance, compare the person’s request to the Word (Bible), if it pales in the light (doesn’t hold up), get out of there quickly, your soul is at stake.
If you have already been “trapped” in a situation of sin, found yourself thinking, “I’ve gone too far now, there’s no turning back”, you’re wrong. It’s not too late, seek Jesus Christ and repent, NOW, before it’s really too late. Jesus loves us enough to die for our sins! Don’t let anyone tell you there’s no hope. Satan will tell you that you’re too bad, you’ve sinned too much, but it is a lie. God knows all that you have done and will do, yet He still loves us enough to send His Son to die for us. Don’t wait around to “get your sins together”, come to Jesus NOW. He will save you, He is the only way. Don’t wait another minute, seek Him NOW.
Lord, thank you for your mercy and love. Thank you for the wisdom of the Bible to help keep us from sin. Please, forgive me and help me to follow Your path of life and avoid the seductive lure of sin.
