Hebrews 1

Verses 3-4. (3) The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. (4) So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.

Let there be no question or doubt in your mind, Jesus Christ is the Son of God, He died so our sins may be cleansed, and He now sits at the right of the Father in heaven and reigns over all.

I often wondered when I was younger, why Jesus didn’t come off of the cross, call down angels and punishment from Heaven, and destroy the blasphemers and those punishing Him; that is probably what I would have done, using my human mind and reasoning. I know now He stayed on the cross, endured great pain and punishment, because of His love for us and His obedience to God the Father’s plan of human salvation. He loves us enough to die for our sins, to provide a way for us to be purified and allowed into God’s presence. He trusted God and obeyed His will, even though it brought great physical, mental, emotional pain and death. What many see as weakness, especially those that were there to punish Jesus, was the greatest example of self-sacrifice, love and strength.

Even more, God has considered all of us His children, on equal footing with Jesus. What a mighty, loving, merciful God we serve! We must also follow the example of Jesus and trust God COMPLETELY and the victory is guaranteed!

Thank you, God for loving me so much to sacrifice Your Son, Jesus, for me and for showing me mercy and grace. To God be the glory for ever and ever.
