1 Peter 3 - Fear not, Jesus is Lord

(14) “But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. ‘Do not fear what they fear; do not be frightened.’ (15) But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have…”

Peter is explaining how we should be set apart as Christians. How we are to treat others well, love one another, and let the light of Jesus Christ shine through us, as Pastor Rusty spoke of today. Peter was also saying, by doing what was right, who would hold blame against you, but even if they did, you are still blessed. For we, as Christians, do not have to be afraid or fear what the unbelievers fear, for we have the hope beyond hope, the redemption and salvation only provided by the blood of Jesus. He paid the price for our sins, so we wouldn’t have to die. Because Jesus sacrificed His life, spilled His blood to pay for our sins, rose again in victory over death, we can accept Him as our Savior and have everlasting life! That is why we have hope where others don’t and that is what we should be prepared to tell others, so that they may also have hope and know of Jesus Christ our Lord.

I am so thankful that I am a christian and have the hope you are speaking about. Without hope,I would be nothing. Jesus lived, died, and rose again so that I might live. He expects me to share my love for Him with others. When He comes back, there will be some that go with Him and some that are left behind. It is my responsibility to spread His word so that others have Hope and know my Lord.
