“ 33 ‘Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit.” Like Jesus was saying in this analogy, you can determine the person by the fruit they produce. When someone spouts negativity and profanity out of their mouths, cares only for their own well being, downgrades and takes advantage of others, then you can be sure of the type of person (tree) they are, for their fruit is bad and those they come in contact with are negatively affected, which produces more bad trees, more bad fruit.
On the other hand, someone who positively uplifts others, supports them with encouragement, shares the Gospel of Jesus Christ, disciples others to further God’s kingdom, this produces sweet, good fruits of labor, therefore the person (tree) is good, and everyone they come in contact with is affected to the good, producing more good trees, more good fruit.
In a time of deceit and vicious selfishness, we must be on guard, for there are many who will claim to be of God, claim to be Christians, claim many things but, as Jesus showed us, we can determine their true desires and motives by looking at their fruit. What kind of fruit do you produce?
