Matthew 3

John the Baptist spoke to the people saying “11"I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. 12His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor, gathering his wheat into the barn and burning up the chaff with unquenchable fire." He was speaking of Jesus Christ, whose death and resurrection paid the price for our sins and allowed us to gain the Holy Spirit, to commune directly with God, and enact the new covenant. As verse 12 shows, it is only through Jesus Christ that we can be saved and be with the Father, God. Without Jesus, we will be burned in the unquenchable fire of hell. So don’t be fooled and don’t delay, serve the only King of Kings today, Jesus Christ our Lord.
