Matthew 5 - Give

This entire chapter is full of awesome information, so I beseech you to read it all; however, I will speak of one verse. We have often heard the old saying “neither a borrower or a lender be”, however, Jesus said in verse 42, “Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.” We get caught up a lot in what is “ours” and what is “owed to us”, but we forget that it is all from God. So instead of being so focused on “getting what we deserve”, we should be thankful for what we have and be happy to share and help others. After all, if we all got what we deserve, it would be death! Furthermore, we all came into the world with nothing and are leaving with nothing, it all comes from God. The best way not to get attached to things of this world is to give them away. Think about it the next time you see someone in need. God bless and keep you.
