John 15 - Bear Good Fruit

Jesus said, “5"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. 8This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.”

There it is, in simple black and white, the reason and meaning of our lives, we are made to bear much fruit. That is, to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to make disciples of all nations, to tell the world the Truth of Jesus, and to bear fruit by saving souls. Notice that Jesus said we cannot do this without remaining in Him, without Him we are useless and can accomplish nothing, we will wither and die, fruitless and burned. However, by following Jesus, remaining in Him, we are blessed with the favor to ask in His name and God will honor! Hallelujah! We will have all we need to be fruitful, we don’t have to go it alone or be ill equipped. God will provide for us to show His glory by bearing much fruit in the world and showing ourselves as disciples of Jesus Christ the Son.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your greatness and mercy, thank You for giving Your Son Jesus to us to die for our sins and cleanse us of all unrighteousness. Thank You for blessing us, in Jesus name, with what we ask, all for Your glory. Please be with us, guide and direct us to bear good fruit for Your glory and kingdom. All praises and thanks be unto You, oh Lord. Amen.
