24Now Thomas (called Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. 25So the other disciples told him, "We have seen the Lord!"
But he said to them, "Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it."
26A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!" 27Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe."
28Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!"
Now we may be quick to judge Thomas for not believing, however, we do the same thing. We hear of God’s glory, receive His blessings on us every day, and unfortunately sometimes explain them off as “luck” or “good fortune”, not giving God glory for what He has done. Don’t let that continue, make sure to give God the glory for all that He is doing for you, there is no luck, there is GOD!
There will be times when you question, times when you feel so broken and beaten that you wonder if God is listening or if He cares, but don’t let it discourage you or sway you from the truth, God loves you more than anyone else ever could and He works with you daily, if you allow Him, to receive the great blessings He has planned for you, but you have to make the first step. So just because you can’t see God working in your life, doesn’t mean He’s not there.
Remember what Jesus said to Thomas: 29Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."
I can tell you from experience, believing is seeing, for God is good all the time and all the time God is good. I am truly blessed, not because I deserve it, but because God loves me, and He loves you the same. Spend some time with your Heavenly Father today, believe and trust in Him, forge a relationship with Him, for He wants to be a part of your life. You will be eternally glad that you did, and so will He.
