Romans 8 - Set Your Mind on the Right Path

Romans 8.

“ ⁵Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.”

This is what separates us from animals and also gets us in and out of trouble. We have the ability to control our actions and CHOOSE what to follow. We can listen to society tell us we “deserve” things and to think about “ourselves”, which leads us into following and focusing our minds on our sinful desires, which damage our souls and leads to destruction. But, thank the Lord, that doesn’t have to be the case.

We have the ability, thanks to Jesus Christ, to focus our minds and lives in accordance with the Holy Spirit, follow what the Spirit desires, and it will lead us to eternal salvation through Jesus Christ.

It is this simple, what you focus your mind on will determine where you will follow and how you live. Focus on sinful things and you will continue to sin. Focus on negative things and you will be negative. Focus on the Lord and you will follow the Lord. Don’t blame it on your upbringing, your situation, your lack of education, etc., each of us have a choice and are accountable for our own actions, which way will you choose?
