Romans 9 - Good Deeds are not Enough

30What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained it, a righteousness that is by faith; 31but Israel, who pursued a law of righteousness, has not attained it. 32Why not? Because they pursued it not by faith but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the "stumbling stone." 33As it is written:
"See, I lay in Zion a stone that causes men to stumble
and a rock that makes them fall,
and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame."

Here the Bible clearly displays that it is not works that saves us, but faith that gives us righteousness. There is nothing that we can do to “earn” our way into Heaven. Only through faith in Jesus Christ can we gain the righteousness to enter. So if you are listening to society and believing that “I’ve been good, I’ve done good things, that’s good enough” then you are sadly mistaken. God is not “santa claus”, there is no good or bad deeds, you can’t be good enough to overcome sin, only the sacrifice of Jesus Christ could pay that debt. So don’t count on your “good deeds”, increase your faith and accept Jesus today, before it’s too late.
